Yes we currently offer 2 medical grade peels which are performed by Dr. Laura or one of our specialist nurses.

First we prepare the skin for the peel, by cleaning makeup off the skin and degreasing it of oils etc for even penetration.The next stage of the peel involves, applying the acid to the face. Depending on the peel a number of layers can be applied as per the protocol and the depth of damage we are trying to treat. Some peels (including the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance and the Easy TCA peel can feel quite hot on the skin and we will use a fan to cool you down. Dr. Laura will be watching and controlling the situation at all times. If required, the peel is then neutralised again depending on the specific peel and after care is applied again as per the protocol.

This depends on the peel you are having. Lots will leave looking a bit red and sunburnt.For superficial peels such as the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance, the SkinCeuticals Peels or the PRX T33 there is very short downtime. You might be a little bit red when leaving the appointment and experience some flaking days 3-7 but this is slight.

If you are having a deeper peel such as the Easy TCA then there is up to 7-10 days of downtime depending on the patient. Directly after the peel you will leave the appointment looking about 20 years older (!!), and the skin will be red and tight. While the redness will subside over a few hours, the tightness will remain until day 3 when its starts to peel. This usually lasts about 2 days but can be longer for some patients. The new fresh skin underneath can also be quite sensitive so its important to be aware of this.

The number of treatments really depends on a number of factors including

- patient concerns

Most people notice healthier looking skin immediately. The natural repair process of the skin continues to progress over the course of several weeks. Although most people experience peeling of their facial skin, not every patient notices visibly peeling after a chemical peel procedure. Lack of peeling is NOT an indication that the peel was unsuccessful. If you do not notice actual peeling, please know that you are still receiving all the benefits of the peel, such as: stimulation of collagen production, improvement of skin tone and texture, and diminishment of fine lines and pigmentation.
