The treatment takes anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour. Prior to treatment your skin is cleansed with a gentle cleanser. The laser handpick is then applied to skin moving back and forth. Post treatment, we apply a cooling mask and potentially LED light if required.

Downtime varies per treatment. Laser genesis is our lunchtime facial with minimal downtime. It can be combined with a peel, profhilo or anti wrinkle injections. IPL to treat rosacea or redness can have some downtime with mild redness and potential swelling post treatment. There is also the possibility of bug-bite looks after removing spider veins.

We usually describe it as feeling like an elastic band hitting off the face, through for some it can be a little bit more uncomfortable, again depending on which handpick we are using. We try to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. Laser genesis isn’t painful at all and in fact feels more relaxing.

Some results will be visible straight away. Others will show up over the following weeks. If treating pigment, the pigment will initially darken then shed away.

Laser genesis works for all skin types and issues if you wish to reduce the appearance of fine lines or redness. Laser Nd:Yag and IPL are contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding. Laser treatments cannot be performed on active skin infections. Any history of skin cancer, bleeding disorders, poorly controlled diabetes, history of aesthetic treatments or use of certain medications.

We usually recommend a course of 3-6 sessions for best results.
